Jacqueline Liu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & minor in Social Work from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Jacqueline has experience working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds in both Private Practice setting and Residential Treatment facilities. Jacqueline is dedicated to helping her clients gain self-awareness and achieve empowerment through understanding their circumstances and recognizing their own power within themselves.
As a member of a minority group herself, Jacqueline constantly reminds herself to be a compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental listener. She values individual differences and the importance of exploring each unique story. Her goals are to create a safe environment and a collaborative counseling relationship that foster self-understanding and growth, and to help clients develop and practice coping skills for future adversities.
Her counseling approach is primarily compassionate, non-judgmental, and empowering based cognitive-behavioral and person-centered therapy. Jacqueline is also competent to provide counseling services for Mandarin and Cantonese speaking clients, and clients from Asian culture in general.
