License Professional Counselor-Associate
Hi there, I’m Sam! I hope to offer you an approach that meets you where you are while both nurturing you and facilitating the changes that you want. I aim to provide a non-judgmental and safe place for clients to work in while being my genuine and authentic self and I encourage you to do the same. In therapy with me, you can expect a harm-reductionist approach, a non-pathologizing view, as well as an affirming and validating space. My goal is to help you grow in any way that you see fit, help guide you to have more self-compassion, and feel empowered in seeing the changes that you’ve made.
I believe in the egalitarian relationship between therapist and client and know that we can teach each other a few things along the way. I am DBT and EMDR-trained, use a person-centered approach, and tailor my care to fit your individual needs. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in addictions. I also am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).
I enjoy working with individual adults 18 and up and have experience with:
-
Trauma/Complex Trauma
-
Addiction
-
First Generation Adults of Any Culture
-
Anxiety
-
LGBTQIA+ Community
-
Depression
-
Interpersonal Issues/Concerns
