Shlomit Oliel es una Consejera Associada (LPC-A) graduada de la Universidad de North Texas. Como profesional de la salud mental, Shlomit tiene más de 8 años de experiencia como Psicóloga licenciada en la Ciudad de México y posee estudios de postgrado en Santiago de Chile. En su camino professional, se ha focalizado en trabajar como psicóloga clínica y escolar de niños, adolescentes y adultos jóvenes en distintos paises latinos. Shlomit tiene una influencia multicultural y conoce las dificultades que se enfrentan al ser imigante y navegar nuevas culturas, idiomas y tradiciones. Le apasiona trabajar con temas de aculturación y marginación, preocupaciones LGTBQIA+, problemas de relaciones interpersonales y comunicación, ansiedad, depresión, duelo, dificultades de aprendizaje y comportamiento, baja autoestima, identidad o expresión de género y orientación sexual, parentalidad. Además, como consejera trilingüe, Shlomit acoge la oportunidad de ofrecer terapia en español, francés e inglés. Trabaja con niños desde los 5 años, adolescentes, padres y adultos.
Shlomit es un aliado de la comunidad LGTBQIA+, es empática, amable y resiliente. Shlomit busca establecer una relación cálida, igualitaria, sin prejuicios y cariñosa con sus clientes. Shlomit cree en empoderar a sus clientes para ayudarlos a recuperar el equilibrio y propósito de vida. Utiliza enfoques de terapia humanisticas y holísticas, basadas en las fortalezas personales, mindfulness y con base teorica Adleriana. Como terapeuta, integra en sus sesiones la interpretación de los sueños, terapia de juego, sandplay, terapia para fortalecer la relación entre padres e hijos y arte terapia.
A Shlomit le gusta pasar tiempo con su esposo, sus amigos y sus dos perros. Le encantaría entrenar a su perra Frida para convertirse en un perro terapéutico. Se mudó a Texas hace cuatro años, motivada por su historia de amor y su sentido de la aventura. Le gusta la naturaleza, viajar y participar en ferias artesanales.
Shlomit Oliel is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate from the University of North Texas. As a Mental Health professional, she has more than 8 years of experience as a licensed Psychologist in Mexico City and Santiago de Chile. She has previous experience working as a child, adolescent, and young adult clinician in private practice and school settings. Shlomit has a multicultural background and understands the challenges of being an immigrant and adapting to a new country, language, and traditions. She is passionate about working with acculturation and marginalization issues, LGTBQIA+ concerns, relationship issues, learning and behavior difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, grief, gender identity or expression, and sexual orientation. Additionally, as a trilingual clinician, Shlomit welcomes the opportunity to provide counseling sessions in Spanish, French, and English. She works with children from 5 years old, adolescents, parents, and adults.
Shlomit is an empathetic, kind, and strong ally. Shlomit seeks to establish a warm, nonjudgmental and caring relationship with her clients to assist them in regaining balance and a sense of purpose by building on their strengths, empowerment, and individual growth to meet their goals and live a meaningful life. She utilizes strength-based, holistic, mindfulness-based, and Adlerian approaches to Therapy. She has practiced integrating dreamwork, Play Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship therapy, and expressive arts in her sessions.
Shlomit enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and two dogs. She would love to train her dog Frida to become an animal-assisted therapy dog. She moved to Texas four years ago, motivated by her love story and sense of adventure. She enjoys nature, traveling, and participating as a vendor in art events.
